Project Initiation

Objective

To

  • Take the ideas and innovations of people who see the need for a project in their mind and have an analysis and report performed on the innovation by a Product Design and Development team, this report will be submitted to the charity panel who will assess the suitability of the innovation with regard to its compliance with the Mission Statement, Memorandum and Articles of association and Objectives of the charity.
  • The report will contain the following Q&A :
  • What is it? (The innovation)
  • Who would use it? (The market).
  • Where? (Locations of use)
  • When? (In what situation)
  • Why? (Reason for Innovation)

If rejected by the panel then a disclaimer notice will be sent to the client stating that due to our Mission Statement and memorandum and articles of association or that this proposed innovation is out with our field of expertise and therefore we are unable to proceed any further so accordingly we can not give a statement as to the feasibility or otherwise of the innovations. The client has the right to appeal this decision by re-submitting the proposal with new data.

If approved and accepted by the panel then the technical department will convert them into a formal, planned, resource and if possible funded project,

 

in a way that

 

- Clearly defines the objectives and scope of the project,

- Develop a Project Plan of activities and resources required to carry out the project,

- Develops a detailed schedule of activities and resources GATT Chart required to carry out the next stage of the project,

- Defines a project management structure which can be used to carry out the necessary work,

- Establishes a convincing social or business case for the project,

- Gains commitment and approval to the project from the appropriate committee,

so that

- The project is firmly set up for success, and

- the probability of producing a high quality product on budget and on schedule is maximized.
